Hang Gliding In L.A. For Brent's Birthday
Continuing our tradition of trying new things - and especially
things that sound a bit scary, we decided to learn to hang glide
for Brent's birthday this year.
We took the opportunity of being back in Southern California for
Kate's father's 70th to try our hand at the infamous sport -
taking a class on the beach only a few miles from LAX and right
across the street from the Los Angeles Water and Power Plant.
We didn't exactly do anything death-defying, but we did have a
great deal of fun - the only down side was the walk back up the
60 foot incline in deep sand to be able to launch another time -
by our 10th run, we were ready for a rope-tow!

gliding lessons.
