A Romantic Anniversary Underwater

We decided to get certified in Scuba Diving and to complete our
training, we went with a great group, which we highly
recommend, called
Dive West, to Cozumel, Mexico where we
completed a total of 10 dives (including a short night dive) over
three days!  It was intense and so much fun.

We got to swim through caverns which felt like we were in a
Jacques Cousteau special and drift dive in an underwater
current that took us over a mile and a half in only 20 minutes
and made us feel like we were in "Finding Nemo."  We even
found a few minutes to relax and enjoy the sunsets.  It was a
spectacular trip!

Don't miss the links to photos of the town and our underwater
shots!
On our way to "Yucab"
The site of our night dive was called Yucab, since it is along
the Yucab Reef.  Unfortunately, the dive was cut a bit short
by a leak in Brent's air hose, but luckily, all our safety
training helped us out of the tight spot with ease.

The Dive Pier
During the day this pier is teeming with activity
and divers, but at night, it's a beautiful site for
a leisurely stroll.
Our Diving Instructor
Also on the trip was Aaron Kelly, the fearless leader who
took us through our dive training.  He fixed Brent's air-hose
for us and we were able to dive again the next day.
Fiesta Americana
This shot is taken from the beach.  Our hotel could not
have been better situated for diving as the dive shop is
about 50 yards from this picture.
Sunset
We had an amazing view of the ocean from our balcony as
evidenced by this picture of the sunset.
The Dive House Cozumel
Our diving tours were run out of this shop that is located
just across a quiet road from the hotel.
On the Dive Boat
This is a long shot of the hotel on one of our
trips back from a dive.
The Pool
Believe it or not, though they had a wonderful pool we never
made it that far.  This shot was taken from our balcony as
well.
The Topes - The Bumps
There are enormous speed bumps
throughout the island and even on the main
highway, which turns the taxi drive to town into
a veritable E-ticket ride.  Admittedly, however,
the juvenile delinquents in us found the sign
for "the topes" even more entertaining then
the experience.
Same Shot, Different Country
When leaving Cozumel, Brent took the opportunity
to mimic the shot we took from our Journey's
page when we were leaving South Africa.
The "Feets"
What romantic weekend would be complete without a little
game of "footsie?"
