An Amazing Site

Mount Rushmore National Memorial, near Keystone, South
Dakota, is a monumental granite sculpture by Gutzon Borglum
that represents the history of the United States of America with
60-foot sculptures of the heads of former presidents (left to
right): George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore
Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. The entire memorial covers
1,278 acres and is 5,725 feet above sea level.
Mt. Rushmore From Down Below
We hiked the trail as far as we could since part of it was
closed as they removed firework debris from the area.
Original Design
This was what Mount Rushmore was originally planned to
look like when complete but funding fell short.
