Eleven Months Old!
Sawyer started the week with a rare treat - while Mom and
Dad were in Germany, he had his Pie and Papa Petrie
come and visit. While they were here, it only got better
because Pie's cousin's daughter, her husband and their
two daughters (Michelle, Matt, Malika and Naomi
respectively) drove up from Houston for a visit.
We got reports that the three little ones had a marvelous
time together - at the park, in the swimming pool and
exploring the backyard with Pippin.
He's also learned to speak Pomeranian - if you ask him
"What's Pippin say," he'll respond "Ar(f)" - sometimes the "f"
is a bit silent, don't you know...
After Mom and Dad got back, we went to the doctor not
once, but twice this week. First because Sawyer had bumps
that school feared were chicken pox, the second because 3
days later he woke with swollen eyes that were stuck
together with gunk. The former remains a mystery (it wasn't
the dreaded chicken pox thank goodness) and the latter
was just a nasal infection - no sweat.
Sawyer now weighs 24 lbs., 6 oz. and is 30 inches long.
He is walking and trying to run now, can pick things up
without toppling over and keeps us laughing every day!

Sawyer looks to his Papa to pick him up. Until Pie and
Papa came he was never that interested in being carried
around - now he's discovered there's so much to see from
the higher vantage point!
