South Africa's Wine Country

Stellenbosch is the capital of the Cape Winelands. Founded in
1685, it is South Africa's second oldest town after Cape Town
and the reason most visitors come to Stellenbosch is to sample
the wonderful wines of the area. There are over 200 estates that
offer wine tastings in and around Stellenbosch - most of the
estates are impressive: ornate grand manor houses,
jaw-dropping views and beautifully sculptured grounds.

Kate's cousin Shea and her husband Andre live in this area with
their two sons Liam and Jean. We had a wonderful afternoon
with them the day we left - Jean, aged 5, proved a great "big
cousin" to Sawyer - we hope to see them soon!
The South African Family Photo
Kate's cousin Shea took this photo - one of the few we got
as a family on our trip.
