Most Distinctive Symbol of Paris
The Eiffel Tower is 1,050 feet high. It was the world's tallest
building until it was surpassed by New York's Empire State
Building in 1931. It weighs 10,100 metric tons and is so sound
it never sways more than 2.5 inches even in strong winds.
While in "Gay Paris" we visited it several times. We finally
ventured to the top on a cold Saturday night.
Could Anything Be More Parisian?

Underneath The Tower
At the base of the tour is a "walk through" where vendors
sell the wares while people wait in line to ride to the top.
The Park By The Tower
After spending several hours walking around
the city we enjoyed a bit of a respite in this
lovely park that's adjacent to the Tower.
Eiffel Tower With The Statue Of Liberty
Yes, the Parisians have a mini version of this
Statue of Liberty and this photo is particularly
neat how it juxtaposes the symbol of France
and the Symbol of the United States so
closely. How far our relations have come
since that gift...

Fun Angle
There's not two ways about it - the Eiffel Tower
is fun and makes for some neat photos.
It's Big
Kate admires the towering structure.
